Imaging and mapping the Evolution of the Bottle

This idea explores how we can imagine the evolution of the bottle through relation to existing artifacts from the local museum.
Using artifacts from certain time periods, we create a picture of what a water bottle COULD have been during this period. We do this through research of the history of these times; what the social situations were, significant health problems, significant cultural changes, what the most easily obtainable material was, etc... Using this data and relating directly to the designed artifacts in the museum from that period, we can perhaps design a water bottle, as they would have done.
Then we move on another 50-100 years and go through the same process. However, this time we draw comparisons between the eras and EVOLVE our first design to what it COULD have been.
We repeat this process until we finally EVOLVE the bottle design to fit our current time's situation.
What we are left with then is a mapped evolution of the bottle, which becomes an 'unreal' history for the local museum, and a bottle that has gone through a rare site specific evolution.
Could be interesting process and research driven project framework!?
